Forgot Password? How to Recover Your Accounts

Forgot your password? Don't panic. This guide covers password recovery for Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, Apple ID, Microsoft, and Twitter/X.

Security Warning: Never share your passwords or recovery codes with anyone. Legitimate companies will never ask for your password via email or phone.

General Tips

Always use the official website or app for password recovery
Have access to your recovery email or phone number
Be prepared to answer security questions
Use a strong, unique password when resetting
Enable two-factor authentication after recovery

Gmail / Google Account

G Google Account Recovery

Go to Google Account Recovery
Enter your Gmail address and click "Next"
Click "Forgot password?"
Google will ask you to enter the last password you remember
Verify your identity using recovery email, phone, or security questions
Create a new strong password
Sign in with your new password

Facebook

Go to Facebook Find Your Account
Enter your email, phone number, or full name
Click "Search" and select your account
Choose how to receive the reset code (Email or SMS)
Enter the 6-digit security code
Create a new password
Choose to log out of all devices (recommended)

Instagram

Open Instagram app or go to Instagram Password Reset
Tap "Forgot password?"
Enter your username, email, or phone number
Choose to receive the reset link via email or SMS
Click the link in your email or SMS
Create a new password

Apple ID

Go to iforgot.apple.com
Enter your Apple ID (email address)
Choose verification method: Email, Security Questions, or Two-Factor Authentication
Follow the on-screen instructions
Create a new password (must be at least 8 characters)

Microsoft Account

Go to Microsoft Password Reset
Enter your Microsoft account email
Complete the security check
Choose verification method: Email, SMS, or Authenticator app
Enter the verification code
Create a new password

Twitter / X

Go to Twitter Password Reset
Enter your email, phone number, or username
Click "Search" and select your account
Choose how to receive the reset code
Enter the verification code
Create a new password

What If You Can't Recover Your Account?

No access to recovery email/phone: Contact the platform's support team directly
Account hacked: Report it as compromised during the recovery process
Account disabled: Follow the platform's appeal process
Two-factor authentication issues: Use backup codes or contact support

Create Strong Passwords

Use at least 12 characters
Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
Avoid common words, names, or dates
Use a unique password for each account
Consider using a password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, iCloud Keychain)
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) when available
