Frequently Asked Questions

What is Text Toolkit?

Text Toolkit is a multi-function text utility that combines five essential tools: Word Counter, Deep Text Analyzer, Sentence Breakdown, Reading Time Calculator, and Case Converter. All processing happens in your browser.

How is readability score calculated?

The readability score uses the Flesch Reading Ease formula: 206.835 − 1.015 × (words ÷ sentences) − 84.6 × (syllables ÷ words). Scores range from 0–100; higher scores indicate easier readability. A score of 60–70 is considered plain English.

Is my text saved or stored anywhere?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your text never leaves your device and is not sent to any server.

What reading speed is used?

Reading time is shown at multiple speeds: 200 WPM (average adult), 250 WPM (skilled reader), and 300 WPM (fast reader). Speaking time uses 150 WPM.

How does the syllable counter work?

Syllable count is estimated using a vowel-group heuristic: it strips silent endings (-es, -ed, -e) then counts vowel groups in each word. It is approximate but accurate for most English text.
